BioMy name is Gavin. I went to Reed from 1999 to 2004, and established this account for the main purpose of commenting on the ReedLJ page (which I now don't do with particular frequency, inasmuch as I've been graduated for three-plus years, and I don't really want to be That Guy who's still posting on ReedLJ years after he should have moved on. Just don't ask me why I'll be auditing a Greek course at Reed this fall.)
Anyway, I've never really used this site for its blog purpose before, but then, in summer 2007, I was suddenly diagnosed with cancer (large diffuse B-cell lymphoma, to be precise). For a lot of reasons, this is not too onerous a diagnosis, and my prognosis actually has to be quite good. The plan continues to be to get this taken care of during this school year (2007-2008), and then to start at Michigan Law School in Fall 2008, one year late than originally intended. But, between now and then, I have a lot of concerned family and friends curious about my progress. I am now using this space to put all updates about my condition in one place, for easy browsing / avoidance of lengthy emails from me.
